Gregory Francis, Hall Of Famer Boxer Trainer Julian Jackson and his newly crown champions 154 WBC light middleweight champion John Jackson and 154 WBC Fecarbox Welterweight Champion Samual Rogers. Delegate Donna Christensen and Sen. Patrick Simeon Sprauve greeted them as they walked in the gate-the champions boxers were then presented with roses, courtesy of Chantel Hoheb from the Department of Tourism, and spent time afterward greeting their fans.

Julian Jackson train two for championship

Julian Jackson is a retired professional boxer and former three-time world champion in the light middleweight and middleweight divisions. Known as "The Hawk", Jackson is considered to be one of the hardest pound-for-pound punchers in history, and is ranked #25 on Ring Magazine's list of 100 Greatest Punchers Of All-Time.

The Hall Of Famer Jackson now living in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He continued his involvement in the local boxing field as a trainer and coach. He has two sons who are also boxers and have been doing well lately at the local level but on Friday night at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas the son John Jackson undefeated knockout artist (12-0, 11 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over previously undefeated Keandre Leatherwood (9-1, 6 KOs) in a fight for the vacant WBC Youth light middleweight title. The bout was waved off by referee Robert Byrd with Leatherwood taking heavy fire time was 1:31 and Jackson also trained unbeaten jr middleweights, Samuel Rogers (11-0, 6 KOs) scored a tenth round TKO over Jamar Freeman (9-1-2, 5 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC FECARBOX belt. Time was 2:10.

Hall of Famer Mike Tyson and future hall of fame lock Bernard Hopkins entered the Guinness Book of World records last night at the awards banquet of the 49th annual WBC convention in Las Vegas. Tyson was actually awarded with not one but two certificates of recognition- most flash knockouts by a heavyweight in a career (9 in less than a minute), and youngest heavyweight champion (20 years, 144 days), while Hopkins was recognized as the oldest man to win a major world boxing championship (46 years, 126 days). Fellow Guinness honoree Oscar De La Hoya presented each man their certificates along with WBC president Jose Sulaiman. De La Hoya had been honored earlier for highest career PPV sales by a boxer ($696 million).
