Bob Lee Sr. NEW BOOK Final round Round 16

Attention Boxing Fans

The World Boxing Review Radio Show. ...Come listen to the boxing news, interviews, legend tales, boxing history, as we travel the world for past, present, and future stars with. Host Bob Murray, and CoHost Aaron Snowell (Hall Of Famer Trainer Of Champions), with. Hall Of Fame Boxing Historians TONY Triem and Henry Hascup

History Review: Bob Lee Sr

This week guest: Bob Lee Sr.

New Book "The Final Round" Round 16

For six years, Mr. Lee served as Deputy State Athletic Commissioner of New Jersey, under former Heavyweight Champion of the World, Jersey Joe Walcott, After Mr. Walcott’s retirement in January 1983, Mr. Lee served as Acting Commissioner of the State Athletic Commission for one and one half years. In those capacities, Mr. Lee helped to guide New Jersey toward becoming the boxing capital of the United States and possibly the world. He has been credited with making many positive changes in the state’s boxing programs for the betterment of the sport that have been adopted by other jurisdictions and hailed as revolutionary in the industry.

From 1980-1982, Mr. Lee held the post of 2nd Vice President of the World Boxing Association, making him the highest ranking member of that world body on the continent. During 1982, Boxing Today, a national publication, named Mr. Lee as one of the four top officials in boxing and even called for his appointment as a National Commissioner of boxing.

During 1982, Mr. Lee sought to bring the presidency of the World Boxing Association back to the United States where it had not been for over nine years. Being narrowly defeated (by nine votes), Mr. Lee did not seek re-election to the vice presidency, but elected to divert his energies toward strengthening the United States Boxing Association of which he was and is the President .. In 1983, the USBA added an international division, that has since become known as the International Boxing Federation, that Mr. Lee also presides over.

Mr. Lee is the first American, since 1973, to have ever run for the position of president of an international boxing organization and the first American to have been elected to the post of president of an international boxing organizat-ion since 1973.

As President of the IBF /USBA, Mr. Lee is recognized worldwide as a leader in the boxing field and his efforts have been the catalyst for many a young boxer to get rated and box for championships nationally and internationally. Largely through Mr. Lee’s efforts, officiating changes have been made in world class boxing and some of these changes have filtered down to. state and other commissions. When speaking of the progressive course that boxing must follow and of knowledgeable people in the sport, without question the one voice that is clear and incisive is that of Robert W. Lee.

Muhammad Ali Jr.

THE GREATEST AND THE LATEST

It started the way the show normally does: Hall of Fame Trainer of Champions Aaron Snowell welcomes in our listeners and proceeds to introduce me as the radio aficionado. After I lead off with a quick look at the top stories we'll be talking more about later on, I take our listeners on a "Magic Carpet Ride" around the world highlighting boxing events in countries far and wide. But this past Saturday morning was different; Aaron mentioned that I should "Fly" through the schedule because a special guest was coming on soon. So at about 11:15am EDT on Saturday, August 15, our special guests did indeed come on live on The World Boxing Review Radio Show. Muhammad Ali, Jr, son of The Greatest Of All Time, and Rich Blum, Jr visited our show to promote their new Anti-Bullying Organizationmuhammadalilegacycontinues.com. Ali, Jr spoke of the need to get in touch with these young people, both the aggressor and the subject, to teach them self-confidence. The goal is ultimately to prevent suicides and mass school shootings. "Schools are a place for higher learning", Ali said. Rich mentioned the precepts of peace, love and joy.

Once the message was delivered, we couldn't help but comment on how much alike the two Ali's spoke. As Ali Jr started doing more imitations relating to his father's past opponents, such as Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson (who he called Rabbit" because of the back of the head punches) and Smokin Joe Frazier, at about the 2/3 mark of the show (39:30 or thereabout), Muhammad broke into an impromptu a cappella version of "Happy Birthday" sung to me! For the record my birthday was the day before but it didn't diminish the incredible moment that I will cherish and talk about forever. After some more talk regardingmuhammadalilegacycontinues.com, the show was nearing its end when Muhammad, Rich and Aaron all sang a reprise. Thanks to the Latest, son of the Greatest, and Rich for a truly memorable Birthday moment. Please visit their website and help spread the word about anti-bullying - cyber attacks included. Mark down on your calendars Monday October 5, 2020 as National Anti-Bullying Day but better yet, let's make everyday Anti-Bullying Day.

Leonard Ciuffoil,

Words can't even explain the hurt, pain, and emptiness that is felt. There is a huge void that cannot be filled. When you talk about Leo, you have to mention his wife (kyira) and his son (Tak'ari). His energy was contagious, there is no way you look at him and not laugh, or pick your game up. He was a competitor of competitors. Any challenge, obstacle, and his way really wasn't oh, it was just his decision when he wanted to move it. He started boxing in Australia at the age of 9, and yes he was good. He won the Golden Gloves in Australia and they wanted him to go to Rio for the Junior Olympics. He won before coming to America. While in California Boxing was not his priority, family was. He had his son Tak'ari and then left to become one of America's Finest soldiers. Challenging himself he became an 11B infantryman, he always stated "I want to be the best" and he really was. As a South Pole he was so crafty, at times keeping more experienced opponents off-balance and And showing his fellow teammates what's expected in and out of the rain. Family is what we preach on our team and this proved that he was much more than a fighter. He is loved even now. As he looks down on a smiling, because he always had one on his face, just know your family won't want for nothing. We got you little brother, keep watch over us and we will see you on the Green.

Yusuf Hillman Chaplain Exercise Coach: Leo,

wasn't just a soldier performing in the gym, or in the ring that made him special, but the dedication, hard work and sacrifice necessary to reach and maintain that status. Because those factors gave him power to motivate, inspire and leave a lasting impression on people. God Bless Him

Aaron Snowell Hall Of Fame "Trainer Of Champion" WBC Ambassador " My Blood Is Green, My Heart Is Gold"

We are praying for and with the Ciuffoli's family, friends and the boxing team. Boxing is a great sport for a young boxer looking to make a name for himself.

Boxing is about much more than the big name events. There are real people in it like SPC Leonard Ciuffoli a soldier and a boxing champion.

I had the pleasure of meeting Leo as he is called

at Fort Myers Henderson Hall Boxing Program with Sergent David Pough SFC, and Yusuf Hillman Chaplain, Exercise Coach.

I talked with Leo, he was looking for a better life in boxing, to turn pro and to become world champion.

I watched him training. He was a hard worker, very great boxing skills and had a great training team.

Boxing can propel an unknown person to the heights of success. Leo had a reputation of a talented boxer.

Leo said, he worked hard with his character than his reputation because the character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

Leo made each day of training a master piece.

Talent is GOD's given.

What a champion

SPC LEONARD CIUFFOLI
